Permission To Question

Have you ever voiced genuine frustration or impatience, only to be hit with that familiar, rehearsed religious reflex? People are so quick to tell you, “You can't rush God. You can't question God.” It is a phrase thrown around like a stop sign, designed to abruptly silence the very real, messy, and heavy emotions that come with simply living.

Far too many of us shrink back in fear because we have been deeply conditioned by a rigid, fear-based mindset. We were taught to view the Creator as a fragile tyrant, a being who sits in the sky waiting to strike you down the exact moment you show a sliver of unpolished human emotion. But if you actually sit with the ancient stories—if you dare to strip away the suffocating dogma and look closely at the lived experiences within those texts—you see a completely different reality.

The spiritual giants did not walk on eggshells. They questioned. They wrestled. They got angry, and they were not discarded for their honesty.

Look at Jonah. He ran entirely in the opposite direction because the instructions he received did not match his expectations. He felt set up, frustrated, and exhausted by the narrative unfolding in front of him. Look at Job, crying out from the literal ash heap of his life, demanding a direct answer and completely baffled by suffering he knew he did not deserve. We are taught that this kind of friction is a sin, but wrestling with the Divine is never an act of rebellion. It is an act of authentic communication. It is the raw, undeniable evidence of a real relationship. When you argue, vent, and lay your profound confusion out bare on the floor, you are fully engaged. You are talking, listening, and forcing the truth to meet you exactly where you actually are, rather than where religion tells you to pretend to be.

People are constantly eager to hand every trial and every moment of doubt over to the enemy. But if we evaluate the fruit of our experiences, the dividing line becomes crystal clear. What kills, steals, and destroys is simply out of alignment with our highest good. What brings life, abundance, restoration, and genuine rebuilding is the Divine.

You do not have to hide your impatience, your grief, or your hardest questions behind a polite, performative mask anymore. Healing is not, and never will be, about passive compliance. It is about feeling the uncomfortable friction, dealing with the absolute reality of where you stand, and deeply trusting that the Source is more than big enough to handle your truth.
